Making Our Own

When I returned home after some time in college, I spent some time experimenting with my childhoo yukata, which was bought at UniQlo (so no growing seams here :( ) and was way too small for me. Cutting open the flowing undersleeve part yielded an interesting, rectangular shape in the shoulders and I decided to experiment with a separate piece of thicker cloth (I originally used hemp twill) to see if the piece could work as a long jacket.

Below is a CAD rendering of it, and the original sketch. On the side is a quick DIY TikTok I made for a piece in black polyester. The general silhouette ended up being completeyl different, but the overlapping parts on the front maintainted the recognizeable "Japanese" look.
